Shanklin Village Action Day

On Wednesday 2 October 2024, Sutton Housing Partnership (SHP) along with Rob Spry, hosted an Estate Action Day at Shanklin Village. This event is part of our ongoing initiative in partnership with the Sutton Federation of Tenants and Residents Associations (SFTRA), designed to engage with residents on our estates and provide an opportunity to report any outstanding issues or repairs. We were also joined by members of the Shanklin Village Residents Association, who actively encouraged residents to participate, share their thoughts, and report any concerns.

Our SHP teams were on-site throughout the day, addressing concerns identified during the previous walkabout on Friday 26 July.

The Tree Team worked on trimming back overgrown shrubs that were obstructing walkways, while the Repairs Team focused on fixing damaged windows and doors. We also made significant progress in addressing damp and mould issues in residents homes.

SHP staff engaged directly with residents to discuss their concerns, with the biggest issue being damp and mould, as well as the need for more vibrant notice boards. Many residents also voiced concerns about the lack of updates regarding ongoing repairs.

The event saw a great turnout, with many residents reporting issues, we were able to complete minor repairs on site.
