Our Board
We have a Board of Directors comprising ten members: three residents (One tenants and two leaseholder), four independents, and three council nominees from the main political parties.
Our board’s responsibilities are to:
- guide strategic direction in line with Management Agreement
- scrutinise and monitor performance
- approve budgets
- agree policies and make financial decisions
- ensure that SHP is run lawfully and ethically
The Board has adopted a Code of Governance which sets out the principles that underpin good governance and, through our policies, explain how we put these principles into practice. You can read SHP's Code of Governance here.
Board meetings remain open to the public, and you may join via Google Meets or telephone. Please contact us if you would like to attend.
As part of our Board Succession Policy.pdf [pdf] 162KB, we are looking for individuals who share our ambitions and commitment to social housing. We are currently looking to appoint an Independent Board Member and up to three Resident Board Members. Please visit the following page for more information on the role and how to apply.
SHP's governance structure also includes two committee meetings. The Audit & Risk Committee and Performance Committee meetings, of which our board members attend to scrutinise and monitor SHP's key services. Whilst Audit & Risk Committee meetings are not open to the public, our Performance Committee encourages and welcomes attendees. To view upcoming meeting dates, previous meeting documents or to find out how you can attend, please visit our Performance Committee page.
