Sutton Housing Partnership unites for Child Exploitation Awareness Week 2025: Empowering young people to spot the signs and take action.

Child Exploitation Awareness Week is a national campaign aimed at raising awareness and tackling exploitation through education, outreach, and multi-agency collaboration.

Sutton Housing Partnership is working with community partners to urge schools, youth organisations, parents and the wider community to take part in Child Exploitation Awareness Week 2025 to help create a safer environment for young people.

This year’s theme will focus on helping young people recognise, report and respond to exploitation in their communities. From 17 - 21 March, Sutton residents can take part in a range of activities across the borough, including:

  • Tuesday 18 March from 2-5pm, an event in McDonald’s on Sutton High Street to engage with young people and support them to understand the different types of exploitation, recognise early warning signs and know where to go for support.

  • Thursday 20 March from 2-5pm, an event at Sutton Family Fun Zone to encourage conversations and raise awareness in a family friendly environment.

  • Tuesday 18 and Thursday 20 from 12-5pm, stalls in Civic library on offering advice and support from safeguarding professionals while distributing backpacks, alarms and resource packs for young people.

We encourage all residents to participate in these vital events and engage with the resources provided. By working together, we can equip our young people with the knowledge and confidence to identify and report exploitation, creating a stronger, safer community for everyone.
