Sutton Council and partners win prestigious social care award
We’re proud to announce that Sutton Council, in collaboration with Sutton Housing Partnership, Medequip Connect, and Access Group, has won the ‘Best Technology in a Home Care Setting’ award at the 2024 Social Care Top 30 awards!
This award recognises our innovative approach to improving independent living through modern technology — transitioning from outdated telecare to proactive, sensor-based services that enhance safety and independence for thousands of residents.
The new system features advanced sensors, real-time caregiver apps, and preventative care pathways, all designed to keep people safer at home and reduce emergency interventions. The system can detect changes in behaviour such as increased inactivity, includes a 24/7 contact centre and preventative pathways, and features a 45-minute emergency responder service.
This has significantly improved the quality of life for many individuals by avoiding distressing interventions and reducing hospital admissions.
